Clinical work concerns individual medical practice and the delivery of defined clinical roles within the independent sector.

 

For over seven years, Vida has engaged experienced doctors to undertake niche and non-standard clinical work that sits outside traditional NHS employment structures. Engagement may be on an employed basis or under contracts for services, depending on the nature of the role and clinical context.

Doctors engaged through Vida work within clearly defined scopes of practice, with professional expectations aligned to regulatory requirements and the standards of a reasonable peer.

Independent medical appraisal

Vida also provides independent medical appraisal for doctors who are connected to other designated bodies, or who do not currently have a prescribed connection.

​

Independent appraisal is undertaken in accordance with GMC requirements and does not establish a designated body connection or confer Responsible Officer responsibility. Where a doctor has an existing designated body, appraisal outputs are provided for consideration by the appropriate Responsible Officer.

Clinical activity is approached proportionately, with regard to patient safety, professional development, and regulatory clarity.
